Shorlo (“we”) helps you plan a beach trip in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

Newsletter signups. When you join the countdown newsletter, we save your email address, trip dates, the destination you searched, its map coordinates, and the trip types (“vibes”) you picked. This is stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, a storage service run by Cloudflare.

Searches. When you search, the place you typed and its coordinates are sent to the data services listed below so we can show your map and conditions. We don’t link searches to your identity unless you sign up.

Basic technical data. Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

How we send email

Newsletter emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. Resend receives your email address and the message content in order to deliver it.

Data services we use

To show maps, places, and conditions, the site looks up data from: OpenStreetMap (map tiles, Nominatim and Photon address search, Overpass place data), the National Weather Service (forecast, wind, surf zone forecast), NOAA Tides & Currents (water temperature), and Open-Meteo (UV index). These services receive the location being looked up and, for requests made from your browser, your IP address. Each has its own privacy policy.

Cookies and analytics

Shorlo does not currently set its own cookies or use advertising or analytics trackers. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

Affiliate links

Some links, such as Vrbo links through the Expedia Group Travel Creator Program, are affiliate links. If you click one, the partner site may set its own cookies to credit Shorlo for a booking. Those cookies are governed by the partner’s privacy policy. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Unsubscribe and your choices

Every newsletter email will include an unsubscribe link. You can also email hello@shorlo.com to unsubscribe, see what we hold about you, or have it deleted. We do not sell your personal information.

Children

Shorlo is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
